In Sandy Springs, Action Septic Tank Service found this concrete outlet baffle on an older septic tank cracking and deteriorating. The pipe was missing going out of the tank because it had completely deteriorated. This type of problem leads to system backups and surfacing effluent in the drainfield. To fix, we replaced the old concrete baffle and line going to the drainfield with PVC.

A septic tank should have an inlet and outlet baffle. The outlet baffle prevents floating scum and sewage from exiting the septic tank and entering and clogging the drainfield. An effluent screen can often be added to the baffle to provide even more protection to keep scum and sludge from leaving the tank.

In Alpharetta, Action Septic Tank Service repaired a blocked drainfield.

First, we pumped the tank that was filled with sludge. Next, we replaced the mainline and installed an inlet baffle. We also replaced the outlet baffle and bell pipe. A cleanout was put on to the line going out to the drainfield so that root killer would be able to be added. We replaced a section of line that was blocked with roots since it was preventing water to properly flow to the rest of the lines. A new lid was installed to complete the job.
