The distribution box helps to maximize the life of your septic system. The effluent leaves the septic tank and travels through the inlet pipe to the distribution box. The wastewater is dispersed from the distribution box through the outlet pipe that leads to the drainfield.

When installed, your distribution box must be level so that the effluent is evenly dispersed. Otherwise, distribution pipes become overloaded, which may cause the system to fail.

In Milton, GA, Action Septic Tank Service performed work on this overfilled tank.

Prior to service, the pump stopped working and the tank was stopped up. We found that the pump had been unplugged and was also improperly put together. This caused the water to build up inside the tank and led to a septic backup.

To fix, we pumped the water out to a normal level. We also repaired the faulty pump to get the system going again.

In Milton, GA, Action Septic Tank Service repaired a septic system. We needed to add a new mainline. We installed the mainline from just inside the basement wall and ran it from the house to the tank. Then, we put a new cleanout onto the mainline.

The mainline carries all water from your house to the septic tank. Inside the tank, the solids settle to the bottom, the oil and grease float to the top, and the wastewater makes up the middle later. The wastewater then exits the septic tank and goes out to the drainfield.

A drainfield line was broken and caused the system to backup. We tied an unharmed section of the wet line into a dry line to get the water properly flowing again.

In Cumming, GA, Action Septic Tank Service repaired this septic system. The inlet end was filled with tree roots and caused a blockage.

We pumped the septic tank and unstopped the inlet baffle. We also removed the four lids from the tank and cleared out all of the roots. To complete the job, we replaced the outlet baffle and the line from the tank to the drainfield with PVC.

Roots are a big problem for septic systems. Older pipes, made of concrete or clay, can leak, which attracts roots. Root intrusion leads to blockages and system failures. Regular septic maintenance and inspection will help to keep any root intrusion issues under control.
